What We Can Learn From Purim, The Jewish Festival Of Lots - How Not To Bow
This year, I learnt a very important lesson during Purim, the Jewish festival of lots. I learnt how not to bow down to pressure just like Mordecai.
I know just how easy it is to be pressured by family, friends and loved ones to engage in activities that are not right or even safe.
And sometimes if you have Non-Jewish friends, then what is lawful for you as a jew may not be lawful to them as non-jews.
There are many times when Jewish law differs from Non-Jewish law.
And sometimes, we might be pressured to do what is unlawful just to fit in or be liked.
I hope we can all have the strength to say no to evil pressure. I pray we can all learn how not to bow to what is unlawful. I pray we can all learn to honor HaShem with our actions and words.
